Mr. Jan Hlaváček, COO of Aireen, delivered his lecture and presented awards to the third-year students of the Economics and Management program on 18 December 2023.

Aireen is a Czech startup company in AI-based medical devices and the first CE MDR IIb certified, EU-developed medical device for the diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy. Mr. Hlaváček, in his speech, touched upon the current state of the art of the use of AI in early-stage diagnosing diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, Alzheimer’s disease from a retina scan, and other cutting-edge applications in healthcare.

Seven teams of 21 students worked on market research of AI medical devices in target countries where Aireen plans its expansion. The business reports were a valuable source of information for the in-depth market analysis. Students improved their market research skills and learned how to address key business questions and needs and how to efficiently present the information according to industry standards. Aireen representative and the course instructor, Dr. Miloš Ulman, reviewed and evaluated the business reports.

All teams were awarded prizes at a final ceremony after the lecture.
